About Don's:

            Don’s Specialty Meats has two locations in Carencro and Scott, Louisiana.  The Carencro location, on I-49 Frontage Rd., 1 ½ miles north of the old Evangeline Downs Racetrack, has been in business since 1993.  In 2005 the second store was built on I-10 Frontage Rd. in Scott, next to Cajun Harley Davidson.  The two stores are maintained under the same ownership, Mark “Aubrey” Cole, and the excellent quality of products are maintained under the same management with over 35 years of meat-cutting experience. 

            Since 1993 Don’s Specialty Meats in Carencro has been making the same great boudin and cracklins that are now ubiquitously known as South Louisiana’s best!  From boudin and cracklins to plate lunches and specialty meats, the great quality and spicy Cajun flavor remain consistent.  The bar-be-que sandwiches and plate lunches have made Don’s a hot spot on the weekends.  On Saturdays cars flood the parking lot for pork chop sandwiches and hamburgers and on Sundays customers call hours in advance to reserve chicken, ribs, pork steak, and stuffed brisket dinners.  It is the big business of this little store that urged the opening of the bigger location off of I-10 in Scott.  Visit http://boudinlink.com to read an A+ review and critique of Don's boudin, Carencro location.

            In October of 2005 Don’s was overwhelmingly welcomed to Scott by locals and interstate travelers.  From the first day opened Don’s has been a hot spot for lunch with daily plate lunches and a full service grill.  Indoor and outdoor seating are available to offer a pleasurable environment for one to enjoy a link of boudin, rather than in his car on the ride home; however the deli menu is not to be ignored.  Homemade hamburgers, po-boys, daily plate lunches, and fried chicken and pork chops also pull in crowds at lunch time.
